Overview
The Argentine Model 1909 Mauser rifle represents one of the finest contract Mauser rifles produced in the early twentieth century. Manufactured in Germany by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) for the Argentine military, the Modelo 1909 is widely regarded for its high level of machining quality, durable finish, and elegant national crest markings.
Argentina adopted the rifle as part of its modernization program, continuing the country’s long relationship with Mauser-pattern arms that began with earlier Model 1891 rifles. The Modelo 1909 is chambered in 7.65×53mm Argentine and is built on the large-ring Mauser 98 action.
Receiver and Crest
The receiver ring displays the Argentine national crest, consisting of the Phrygian cap atop a pike within an oval shield, surrounded by laurel branches and a rising sun. Crest detail remains visible, though softened slightly by age and handling.

Rear Sight
